I have a Maytag toploader washing machine,mdl#LAT9356AAE. On washing cycle, It won’t agitate. On delicate cycle,it does agitate. On the draining cycle,it won’t drain. While in the delicate cycle,it only drains some of the water, it stops draining and starts filling over the used water already in it. In order to drain all the water, have to repeat cycle a few times.

    Hi,

Maytag top loaders are quite a specific machine. However I feel this could be 2 possible faults.
    1) Erratic Behaviour can often be put down to the circuit board
    2) The pressure system is faulty – causing the machine to think it’s full or empty.

Being such a specialist machine I wouldn’t call a local engineer I would give Maytag direct a call.

    Hope that helps,
    WMM

I have about a seven year old washing machine ( KENMORE ) HE2 front loading washing machine with a storage tub down below and a matching washer and dryer combo set that came with the house purchase and the huge rubber gasket that compresses against the front door has a hole in it so it subsequently leaks out of the bottom of the door at six o’clock through all cycles. How much and how hard is it for me to buy the part and self install the huge gasket and is there anything I should be cautious about ? It seems to me that it is pretty strong rubber so after even trial and error it might be able to be done adequately without any failure. Someone who knows please respond to this note of request – thanks so much.

I have a 9 year old Kenmore front load washer, the drum is off balance. Can this be repaired or do I need to buy a new washing machine?

    Thank you.

If I were in your position I would really consider buying a new machine.
Have a read of our buying guide but as a rule of thumb… buy German.

This is almost certainly a heating element in the machine and so worth repairing.

My fiance washed a bathroom rug by it’s self and now it makes a grinding noise and turns very slowly. it will still fill and drain ok. Is this something I can fix?

    Washing Machine Man Reply:

perhaps some of the rug has got caught in between inner and outer drum. probably best an engineer looked at this one

We have a 6 year old LG which is making a whirring sound, the drum spins freely by hand but once switched one ie: spin cycle it makes this sound. Any suggestions before we call out an enigineer

    Washing Machine Man Reply:

could be a bearing issue… as it happens on spin… let me know the outcome if it is something different
