Indesit Washing Machines and Washer Dryers

• F10 – No cold fill. Check that the taps are on or if the drain hoses are kinked.
• F11 – No hot fill. The ambient temperature is likely to be below freezing possibly due to the pipes being
frozen. Also check that the taps are on or if the drain hoses are kinked.
• F12 – No mixed fill. It is likely that the water is not turned on at the taps.
• F13 – Check the water supply, inlet valve and hot and cold hose connections.
• F14 – A fault with the water heating has occurred.
• F15 – Water is not being pumped out and a flood condition could occur. Check that the drainage hose is
raised to the recommended minimum height and that the pipe is not blocked.
• F16 – Extremely high water level Disconnect or turn off the water supply and ensure that the water level
does not rise any more.
• F17 – Door not closed properly. Close door firmly at the 3 o’clock position.
• F20/1 – The thermistor resistance has drifted or the temperature scanning sequence is incorrect. The ambient temperature could be below freezing.
• F30/31 – A motor drive problem has occurred. Try running the programme again.
• F40 – Water below protection level during a heat step.
• F41 – Water level detect sequence incorrect.
• F50/51 – Customer language and wash programme have not been saved.
The system will run with default conditions (1000rpm max and English language). Book an indesit service engineer to reprogramme
your product.

  1. ian says:

hi i have a indesit wib101 and its stopping on a wash and the rapid wash light flashes and it stops working do you now if this meanes any errers and what it could be thanks ian

  2. My older Indesit fault code book looks at the four lights across the top as 1,2,3,4
and I believe the rapid wash light is light 2. Which would indicate a problem with the pressure switch or the PCB.

Fingers cross the pressure switched is just blocked which means it can be repaired without any parts. If it is the PCB and unless you can get a used one really cheaply then it really isn’t worth repairing.

    Hope that helps.

  3. clare says:

Hi, I have a indesit wil163s washing machine and once i put a hot or cold wash on which ever programme it is taking 3 days to complete a full cycle. The clothes are also smelling once they finish be grateful for your views.

  4. The smelling part is most likely due to the bacteria build up after being wet for so long and not actually anything to do with the fault.

It’s a strange fault and difficult to judge. If I was a betting man I’d say its a PCB board fault, I would of said it was the heater but as it does it on cold washers we can rule that out.

My advise would be to get an engineer out or buy a new one. PCB’s can be expensive.

Let me know how it goes. Someone else might get the same fault.

  5. dm says:

hi my indesit wib111 the wire round the drum pop out, got it back in with the rubber but now when it spins the rubber sounds as if its catching help

  6. djt says:

My indesit washing machine wie157s has stopped halfway through a wash and is showing error code f50 the machine is half full of water and I’m not sure its able to drain ! Please help any suggestions would b appreciated .

  7. mark says:

hi ive got the same problem could you please let me know where i can find the pressure switch

  8. wml says:

Hi there sorry for the late reply,
The error f50 indicates there is miss communication between the control board and the other parts in the machine.
This is usually solved by reprogramming the board.
Unfortunatly this can only be done by a Indesit engineer as they have the software.
The best thing to do is call them and ask for a years cover as it only works out a little more expensive than their labour charge and the whole machine will be guaranteed for a year.
    There number is 01733 568 989.
    I hope this helps.

  9. wml says:

The pressure switch is usually located on the top of the machine at the side it is round and has a thin rubber hose attached which will lead to the water inlet area of the machine.
If you would like any more help please post your model number.

  10. Steve says:

Hi my indesit wixl126 has error code f04. (pressure switch stuck on empty)
Can you please let me know if there is a simple way to correct this porblem.

  11. you need to check the pressure switch. this will require the machine to be taken apart.

if you are unsure I would call out a local engineer. no parts should be required because usually you can clean pressure switches.

  12. John says:

My indesit WIE167 has error code F-05 (pressure switch stuck on full). The door is locked and the machine is full of washing and water. Is there a fix for it? Thanks

  13. you need to check the pressure switch. this will require the machine to be taken apart.

Though first thing first you need to empty the drum to open the door. the easiest way to do this is to remove the waste hose from the back of the machine and once the hose is below the drum gravity will make the water come out so have a bowl and a towel ready.

if you are unsure I would call out a local engineer. no parts should be required because usually you can clean pressure switches.

  14. ian says:

Hi i have a IWC6165, when the power off switch is pressed all lights go out. Approximatly 1 min later all lights flash and then go off with the exception of the pause/start light which continues to flash.
I have checked the filter which is clear and tried unplugging for 5 min.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated

  15. that is odd. unless there could be something else wrong with the machine i would say it has a strong possibility of being a faulty pcb board.

try leaving the machine unplugged for 24hrs from the wall…
let me know how it goes.

  16. jes says:

hi i have an indesit 1200 widl 126s (4kg drum) i dont know the age of machine but 5yrs or older!! after the wash has finished it will not spin dry and the power light (red) and the next 3 lights (green) are flashing until i turn the machine of!!!
any help would be appreciated as am a single mum on a low wage with 3 small children so i cant live with out the washing machine it is on all the time!!!

  17. Bob says:

Hi, I have a WIE137S…F12 code is flashing (No mixed fill. It is likely that the water is not turned on at the taps)

I’ve disconnected water pipes from the back of the machine and tested them for water. They both work fine. Could there be a blockage within the machine ?

Water has got through into the drum cos the clothes are wet. Is there a way of trying to reset the machine ?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

  18. Sarah says:

Hi, I have a WIE137S… No error code BUT it flashes “door”

The red door lock light comes on the machine starts then the after 6 seconds of the water filling the red light goes back out… Then it stops. After a minute or so the same thing happens again. It keeps doing this until the machine is full then continues as normal until it gets into the final stages of the wash the red door lock light goes back off and then the “door” error flashes.

Any help you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks.

  19. Wes says:

Hi, we have an Indesit WIE37S which is giving an F-10 code shortly into the wash. The drain pipe appears to be working correctly and I have disconnected the cold water feed at the machine to check the machine has got cold feeding into it. It has and the pressure is good.

The machine will typically start a cycle and then stop. It sounds like the motor is running but the drum won’t spin. Any ideas you could offer would be gratefully received. We have a toddler and baby and laundry quickly mounts up…

    Many thanks

  20. John says:

I have an Indesit wixL123. The first green light(The delay timer) and the door locked light flash rapidly and the machine stops washing. What could be the problem?

    Thanks
    John

  21. mike says:

I am having problems with my Indesit Wi121, which gives 7 flashes when the dial begins going around. Can you advise what all the flashing error codes mean on this machine? I’ve looked online but can only find the “F” codes, this machine has no LED readout, only flashing lights.

  22. mark says:

hi my indesit wie167 does not seem to be washing with any hot water anymore. it has a single cold water supply so i guess it has some element and thermostat. if i put a normal cycle on it usually says 1:15mins on the display. it will go thru the wash cycle down to the last min. it will stay on the last minute for hours if left. it does not engage the final spin cycle. if i then manually adjust the temperature down to zero it resets the timer back to about 55 mins and continues to the end. but the washing machine door feels cold throughout. i’ve had the top off for a quick gander but cannot see anything obvious from the top. please help!!

  23. katherine says:

hi, i have the same machine and have the same problem, but now it wont even fill up i can turn the dial and select what wash i want after about a min it flashes door again.

  24. les says:

Hi I have an indesit w123, the machine has stopped using up the softener conditioner, I have cleaned out the dispenser drawer and as far as I can see everything is clear

  25. Margo says:

I have an Indesit WIB111 and it washes then wont spin. Teried to clear the drain duct but it wont come off. It only loosens and allows water out so cant check if anything stuck in it

  26. jenny says:

Hi im having the same problem wth my indesit wib101. Can you let me know if it is the pressure switch: 1. how do i find it 2. how do i now if theres a problem with it and 3. how do i repair it myself?

    Thanks

  27. Graham says:

  30. Emma says:

My washing machine doesnt seem to work properly. I put my wash on either 4 or 8 for a quick wash but for some reason it tries to spin and then stops, other times it will take the washing powder from the drawer spin round a few times and then stop. I tried switching programme, the light startes flashing on and off and this morning I tried to do a wash again and it just spins and i see foam like bubbles. I am not sure on the model type of the machine Any help is appreciated

  31. chris says:

my indesit washer is over heating the water what could be problem

  32. Rob says:

Hi, I have an Indesit WIL 103 washing machine. The heating cycle ends when the water is luke-warm regardless of the temperature setting. The element measures 30 ohms which is about right for a 1700w unit and I measure 240 volts across the element during the heating cycle. When the water is only mildly warm the voltage to the element is switched off. Can you please propose a solution.
    Many thanks.

  33. Chris says:

    sorry its a WIXL163S

  34. carl says:

problem with indiset wixe127 the word “door” comes on and won’t start.

  35. Buck says:

My indesit WIL 163 displays the door lock button flashing rapidly and the 3rd and 4th horizontal green lights flashing together but at a slower rate. As this is happening the washer drawer is being pumped with water which runs into the drum and drains continuously. All of this happens after a short period of about 6seconds at the start of initiating any wash programme. I have:

    1. Checked all connections for physical security
    2. The motor brushes are intact and making contact.
    3. Tried resetting the machine by unplugging and leaving for 24 hours and also by hold the power button pressed in when reapplying power at the wall socket.

Nothing seems to change the condition. Can you please help?

    Thanks,

    Buck

  36. vicky ramsay says:

i have an idesit wil103. the problem is its stop so many minutes in to the wash and my washing is soaked still, its flashing the red light. but if i leave the washer off a whole day and try it next day it washes fine. but i do a second load in the same day it wont work nd flash the red light. please help me

  37. that is a strange problem. what light is flashing… it might help diagnose the fault. but i feel you may require an engineer to diagnose this machine as at this point it could be a number of problems

  38. it may require a new door interlock

  39. possibly a PCB problem not waiting for the correct temperature

  40. kevin says:

I have an Indesit IWB5123 and it has a fault on it.
All the indicator lights flash and the machine does not go through a cycle.
I’ve powered it off then on but it doesn’t clear the fault.
Any ideas would be very welcome

  42. L Harte says:

I have a WIXE127 Wm and at the moment there is a F-05 error code appearing, my washing machine won’t empty although it has spun (washing is still soaking wet though) any ideas what it means?
This is the 6th repair Iv had to have done on this machine in the past yr (all different repairs) I’m tempted to just blow it up now.. It’s only 3yr old aswell 🙁

  43. L Harte says:

Oh and Iv checked the filter for blockages and I can’t find anything? Just a load of water came out?

  46. willy_wilson says:

Hello there – have a Wil143s. Just turned it on to do a normal load – all the lights are flashing rapidly. Troubleshooting Guide in the manual says “Call for Assisstance because there is an abnormality” (err, coulda guessed that!).

Am trying to pre-empt calling Engineer out for what potentially could be a simple fix my end. Have turned off at wall and turned back on but still rapidly flashing.

    Any ideas?? Many thanks!

  47. Errol says:

Hi i have an indesit iwc6165, would like to know if you can help with the problem with my machine. The cycle works up until and not including the spin or drain. All the lights on the machine keeps flashing. Water is still left in the machine. What could be the problem.
